Getting to and around the Section of Mineralogy
Location
The Section for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry of the Department of Earth- and Environmental Sciences is located on the 3rd floor of the LMU building at Theresienstrasse 41 in Munich, on the corner of Barerstrasse and Theresienstrasse, in the renouned Museums District of Munich ( "Alte Pinakothek", "Neue Pinakothek", "Pinakothek der Moderne"). You find us in the same building as the mineralogical museum "Reich der Kristalle". Easy access exists via the museum entrance. The building is open to the public from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., except for holidays and weekends.
Parking space around us is scarce, so we advise using public transport.

Getting to us from Central Station
- Take one of the following trains to get to Karlsplatz (Stachus):

- S-Bahn (direction "Marienplatz")
- At Karlsplatz (Stachus) use Tram 27 direction Petuelring or Tram 28 direction Scheidplatz
- Get off at the station "Pinakotheken"
or
- Take the Museum-Bus line 100 (direction "Ostbahnhof") or Bus line 150 (direction "Tivolistraße") from "Hauptbahnhof Nord"
- Get off at the station "Pinakotheken"
Getting to us from the Airport
- Take the S-Bahn (S1 or S8) to get to Karlsplatz (Stachus)
- At Karlsplatz (Stachus) use the Tram 27 (direction "Petuelring") or the Tram 28 (direction "Scheidplatz)
- Get off at the station "Pinakotheken"
or
- Take the Museum-Bus line 100 (direction "Ostbahnhof") or Bus line 150 (direction "Tivolistraße") from "Hauptbahnhof Nord"
- Get off at the station "Pinakotheken"
